Trade Committee

    The Trade Committee is comprised of three Team Owners in the league that have the power to approve or veto regular season trades. The members of the committee consist of the previous season’s division winners. Once a trade has been agreed upon by the two consenting Team Owners, it is the Commissioner’s responsibility to immediately notify the Trade Committee of the agreement where it is then the responsibility of the Trade Committee members to promptly respond to the Commissioner with a ‘yes’ or ‘no’ decision regarding the trade. A 2/3 approval of the trade by the Trade Committee is required for the trade to go through. In a situation where one of the Team Owners involved in a trade is one of the three Trade Committee members, their ‘yes’ or ‘no’ vote will fall to the Team Owner who finished 2nd place in the standings within their respective division. If the trade is between a Trade Committee member and the other Team Owner involved finished 2nd in the same division behind said Trade Committee member, the ‘yes’ or ‘no’ vote will fall to the Team Owner who finished 3rd place in the standings within their respective division.
